Kirkwood Contemporary Renovation

Description

This was an extensive renovation of the first floor to incorporate "lost" space into the kitchen by working a closet into a butler's pantry, we took out the wall between the family room and the kitchen, closed in an area on the porch to be a mud room coming in from the garage. The space is not only beautiful but very functional. After a number of false starts with other designers, we had them speak with our designer and my husband who listened to the home owners ideas and needs. We came up with an area that works for their family on a day to day basis as well as a great entertainment space with good flow and functionality. This home incorporates the outdoors with in the indoor space utilizing a wall of doors and windows to the deck and screened porch. We replaced old non functioning exits with new Pella windows and doors that make going from one area to the other easy as well as allowing for a lovely "window" on the woods behind.
